okay....
just completed a MARATHON- a never before attempted record of 3 parties in one night.
While completed, the battle scars have formed, we must once again unite in solidarity, and harden our fragile selves against the harsh reality of socialising in these kind of environments.
a scary, often dangerous terrain, where one must attempt to stay on top of her game at all costs, despite the very unglamourous effects alcohol inevitably leads to. conversations can often be stilted. people who avoid eye contact. many, many other such unfortunate incidents
what is a party, really?
a bunch of like-minded people just wanting to interact, be honest about what they are feeling, in the age of knowing people via sms, web photo galleries and the like, more then ever we just want to chat, not try to hard, and maybe feel a little twinge of recognition = when we meet someone with a similarity to us. Simple huh? you'd think so, but honesty is something hard to find as we become adults, who are quickly developing layers of complexity and defense mechanisim and strategies to mask our ever-growing sense of inadequacy.
phew! sorry to come off so pessimisitic, parties are great! in the right doses though. 3 a night?
Its probably gonna be a one timer
night!
